Day 1: Arrival in San José

Reception at the San José airport and transfer to the hotel.

Day 2: Transfer to Tortuguero National Park

After breakfast, departure from the hotel at 6:30 am to Tortuguero, known as the “little Amazon.” This name comes from the impressive vegetation that borders the canals and the Tortuguero lagoon. There will be a stop for breakfast. You will enter Tortuguero by boat and arrive at your lodge at the beginning of the afternoon. Then you can visit the town of Tortuguero at dusk. This site is also the first spawning place in the Northern Hemisphere for the green turtle. In the spawning season (July to October), you will have the opportunity to observe this amazing and wonderful phenomenon.

Day 3: Through the Tortuguero canals

During today, they will take a guided boat tour through the canals inside the park. They will have the opportunity to observe all kinds of fauna such as alligators, howler monkeys, spider monkeys, sloths, iguanas, a great variety of birds, etc. During the rest of the day, you can book an activity offered by the hotel, stroll along the beach or stay lounging by the pool.

Day 4: Road to the Arenal Volcano

After breakfast, transfer to the Arenal Volcano, a must for all those who visit Costa Rica. Upon arrival, you can go to the Fortuna Waterfall and swim in its crystal clear waters, walk through the National Park, perform sports such as rafting, canyoning or canopy, or give a relaxing swim outdoors during the sunset in the hot springs.

Day 5: Celeste River and the Tenorio Volcano

Day off. We recommend an excursion to Río Celeste located in the Tenorio Volcano National Park. You will walk 7km (approx 4h) through the rainforest. The route is of great beauty and you will arrive to the beautiful waterfall of completely blue sky water.

Day 6: Towards the Monteverde Cloud Forest

After breakfast, you will take the scenic route that goes around Lake Arenal to Monteverde, a small town immersed in the cloud forest and known as an ecotourism destination. This region is of great importance due to its impressive rainforests. Here is the biological reserve of Monteverde, among other private reserves, habitat of multiple tropical species such as the famous Quetzal, the red frog, hummingbirds, sloths, etc. You can make all kinds of naturalistic walks in a mystical environment due to the cloudiness of the area. It is undoubtedly a lush place with a greenness and density unmatched.

Day 7: Free day in Monteverde

Day off. Two of the most recommended activities in the area include Hanging Bridges are an excellent choice to appreciate the beauty of the Forest of Monteverde, since for a distance of 3 kilometers, you will pass by bridges in the treetops, on heights They range from 12 to 60 meters, so it’s ideal if you’re looking for adrenaline. Day 8: Road to PN Manuel Antonio

Breakfast. Departure to the beaches of Manuel Antonio National Park. Manuel Antonio is located in the Central Pacific and is the ideal place to enjoy the beaches and nature. While it is true that Manuel Antonio is one of the most visited areas of Costa Rica, this destination offers paradisiacal beaches where vegetation merges with fine sand and transparent waters.

Day 9: Free day in Manuel Antonio

Free day to rest on the beach, walk through the National Park on a well-marked trail or do some other activity such as a horse ride on the beach, kayak tour, a catamaran ride at sunset … You can walk through the humid tropical forest where you will observe white face monkeys, coatis, raccoons, iguanas, sloths, etc. The same vegetation reaches the white sandy beaches where you can take a bath in the crystal clear waters.

Day 10: Course to Corcovado

In the morning, you will go to Sierpe Pier where you will take a boat that will take you to Drake Bay where your Lodge is located. The Corcovado National Park is considered one of the most biodiverse places in the world and one of the few remaining tropical virgin forests. Because it is located in a remote area and difficult to access, it has been preserved almost intact, thus being a natural treasure. You will arrive at your accommodation and enjoy lunch. Free afternoon.

Day 11: Free day in Corcovado

As essential activities we recommend taking the walk through the Corcovado National Park to the Sirena biological station. During this tour, you will be accompanied by an experienced guide who will give you explanations of all the fauna and flora that you are observing. The forest of Corcovado is the habitat of jaguars, pumas, tapirs, four different species of monkeys, anteaters, etc..

Day 12: Free day in Corcovado

Another of the tours that you should not miss is to go to the Biological Reserve of Isla del Caño for snorkeling or diving. You will swim in clear waters watching the magnificent coral reef surrounded by colorful fish, turtles, stingray … Also, depending on the time, it will be possible to spot dolphins and whales in this region.

Day 13: Visit to the Marino Ballena National Park

Transfer to Dominical, a small coastal town in the South Pacific. Do not forget to visit the Ballena Marine National Park, known for its unique whale tail shape, which is made up of mangroves, coral reefs and virgin beaches. It is one of the best places to observe humpback whales, since they reach the warm waters of Dominical where they have their young (the best time to see them is from the end of July to November and from the end of December to April).

Day 14: Goodbye Costa Rica!

Breakfast. Transfer back to the San José airport to take the departure flight. In case the flight departs in the morning, you should spend the last night in the city.

Reception at the airport and private transfer to the hotel round trip. Transfer by boat from the pier of Sierpe to the Lodge in Corcovado (round trip).
