Irazu Volcano and Hacienda Orosi Thermal Springs

Location: Cartago City, Central Valley
Estimated departure from San Jose: between 6:30 a.m. and 7:30 a.m.

We will take the South Pan-American Highway, to start the ascent to the great Irazú. The mountainous and curvy road crosses the fertile lands cultivated with all kinds of vegetables, while a beautiful panoramic view is observed. At the top of the volcano, its main craters are seen. On a clear and clear day there is the possibility of seeing the Pacific Ocean and the Caribbean Sea.

When descending to the city of Cartago, the Basilica of the Virgin of the Angels is visited, according to the religious custom it is the place of pilgrimage of many believers.
Surrounded by rainforest and exuberant vegetation, La Hacienda Orosi has been blessed by mother earth with hyperthermal mineral water springs. These rich springs of “telluric” hyperthermal mineral waters (not magmatic or volcanic), filter between the layers of the earth and sprout in the middle of the rain forest at more than 65 degrees Celsius.
