Combo Tour: Poas Volcano National Park / Doka Coffee Tour / La Paz Waterfall Garden

Once the coffee explanation is finished, we will continue our way to the Poás Volcano. As we ascend towards the volcano, you will notice the difference in terms of microclimates and vegetation appreciating the great diversity of agriculture present during the trip, among them: ferns, flowers, strawberries, as well as cattle ranches and the view of the central valley creating A beautiful landscape.

Once the coffee explanation is finished, we will continue our way to the Poás Volcano. As we ascend towards the volcano, you will notice the difference in terms of microclimates and vegetation appreciating the great diversity of agriculture present during the trip, among them: ferns, flowers, strawberries, as well as cattle ranches and the view of the central valley creating A beautiful landscape.
This colossus of 2708 meters (8000 feet) is active, and you will not only admire its impressive crater and gas emanations, but you will also learn about its phreatic and fumarolic activity as well as the different ecosystems and exuberant vegetation found in this beautiful national park.
We will continue our way to the La Paz Waterfalls, when we arrive we will walk through a beautiful path, which leads to different attractions of the park, among them the aviary, the largest butterfly observatory in the country, the gallery of hummingbirds, the serpentarium, the exhibition of Frogs, monkeys and felines.
Eventually a delicious buffet style lunch awaits us in the middle of the rain forest, at the end of the lunch we will take a walk where we can visit three impressive natural cataracts formed by the same La Paz River.
It should be noted that this trekking is done in the humid tropical forest sector and consists of steps in some parts of the route, this path is paved.

Important Notes

The total stay within the Poás Volcano National Park will be 40 minutes: 10 minutes on the trek to the crater viewpoint, 20 minutes of stay on the viewpoint and 10 minutes on the outing walk. There is no access to Laguna Botos and in case of fog, there is no extra waiting time as in the past.
“Because of the altitude of this volcano and its activity, this tour is not recommended for anyone with heart problems, high blood pressure, recent operations, pregnant women or children.”
On the way to the Poas Volcano we will visit the Doka Coffee Plantation, to enjoy a delicious breakfast and a guided tour of the coffee plantation where we will learn about the current and ancient techniques used by experts to process our gold grain, and produce one of the best coffees of Costa Rica.
