The Arenal volcano with Tabacón hot springs is one of the most popular excursions we offer.

This tour offers the best of both worlds, in terms of the beauty of the impressive Arenal Volcano, which is combined with the exuberant thermal and relaxing waters of Tabacón. All this on a background of exuberant vegetation and spectacular view of the almost perfect conical shape of the colossus. The impressive Arenal Volcano is a natural wonder found in La Fortuna de San Carlos, Alajuela, offering thousands of tourists the opportunity to appreciate the columns of white smoke, ash and fumarolic activity emanating from the conical colossus. It is important to take into account that the volcano had remained asleep for at least 450 years, until on July 29, 1968 it experienced a great eruption, starting a new period of pyroclastic activity, this activity has diminished considerably during the last years.

En route to the Arenal Volcano, we will make a stop in the famous town of Sarchí, known as the cradle of the artisans of Costa Rica, where they will have the best opportunity to acquire souvenirs such as wood, clothing and souvenirs in general.

In Sarchí, it is very possible that you see an ox cart that bears the title of being the largest in the world, which is built of wood (cedar) and decorated with surprising colors, like a bright orange color. The design is typical and complex, it has two levels of height and it took 70 days to complete, it also has an honorable mention in the Guinness world record book.

The trip continues, crossing forest areas, as well as plantations of various agricultural products, including coffee plantations, pineapple, as well as ornamental plants, cattle farms, and in turn experiencing the variety of microclimates present in the country, until reaching the beautiful town of La Fortuna, to stop and enjoy a lunch in a cozy restaurant with spectacular view of the Arenal Volcano.
